Horrible, horrible wedding dress!
September 26, 2008Thanks again to Danelle for finding THIS monstrosity at Fashion-Stylist.net. Designer Jemma Sykes took goodness knows how long to hand knit this piece for a brand called “Butcher Couture”. It even has a name. Call it “The Elizabeth”. As if looking like you’re walking down the aisle in spaghetti wasn’t enough, the designer was kind enough to add a collar to prevent you from chewing at your stitches in case you’ve had recent surgery. Add a plunging neckline, sandbags to your hips and thighs and SHAZAM! This is what you get:
I HAVE tried knitting before, so I can appreciate the time it took to make this, it is definitely avant-garde, but certainly not wearable.

That dress is more a work of art than a serious wearable thing, it is a monstrosity of a dress if you were actually going to wear it but as art it is AMAZING! It must have taken so long to knit up all those loops..
I love it — after the wedding you can rip it and reuse the yarn for sweaters.

On the up side, if anyone spills any champagne at the reception, they already have a mop there.
