The Travellers that live here in the southeastern US actually have beautiful, large homes in gated enclaves of about 10 to 12 houses. Lovely people, just don’t let them fix your roof.

It’s a VERY closed society, and they pretty much keep to themselves. My mum married an outsider (full-blood Cherokee), and was formally stricken from the family Bible. So to them, she no longer exists and never did.

She has a Master’s degree with Honors, and I am working on a Ph.D. in engineering – so those of us from this particular heritage aren’t particularly mentally deficient.

Regardless, I don’t really see the point in spending so much on ONE DRESS, ONE EVENT, and ONE DAY.
